Challenge
Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), one of Tennessee’s largest school districts, faced growing challenges in keeping its educational technology operations efficient. With hundreds of tools deployed across dozens of schools, workflows for tracking, managing, and making decisions about software had become overly complex. The district struggled with limited visibility into what software was actually being used, making it harder to coordinate procurement and renewals. MNPS needed a centralized, transparent system to simplify workflows and enable smarter, faster decision-making.
Solution
In May 2024, MNPS adopted Veracity’s Technology Management System to modernize its edtech infrastructure.
During the 2024–2025 school year, the district:
• Rolled out a district-wide software catalog for all staff
• Centralized contracts and spend tracking
• Empowered staff to easily find, request, and use approved edtech tools
Results
• Positive feedback across staff and technology teams
• All software spend and contracts documented and accessible
• Success led to a request for a hardware-specific catalog (planned for 2025–2026)
• Automation workflows scheduled to launch for technology approvals
• Veracity awarded a 5-year contract extension through 2030
Looking Ahead
MNPS and Veracity are collaborating on key next steps:
• Launching a full hardware catalog in 2025–2026
• Implementing workflow automation to improve response times and reduce manual effort
• Ensuring MNPS has the systems to scale tech responsibly and strategically
